Sexual autonomy is an important right that needs to be encouraged and supported. In the sexual criminal law, a development can be discerned, from a focus on physical violence to the protection against sexual acts without consent. In the workshop we will trace this legal development and discuss how the principle of consent is realized legally. Subsequently, we will address the question of consent beyond the law. Together we will elaborate how the negotiation of consent is displayed within pornography. Hereby we not only want to focus on those examples where consent is missing but we deliberately want to discuss cases where a culture of consent is successfully and sensually shown. Participants are invited to express their expertise and experiences.
